PRODUCT - Technical Support
- How do I silence the buzzer?
- I
have no communication to the telephone company host computer, and the HOST COMMUNICATION
LED is out on the front panel of the ATU6000.
- Look at your modem lights. If the CO light is dark(out), the data circuit is open and
must be reported to the Telephone Company. You will need to supply your circuit # to the
telephone company.
- Look at your modem lights. If the TD light is on solid, this means your ATU6000 is not
connected to the modem, or your ATU is turned off. Check the cable between your modem and
your ATU6000.
- There is no
communication between my CRT and the ATU6000.
- Check that the cable is secure between the terminal port on the ATU6000 and the CRT.
- Check that your CRT communications are set for 9600 baud, 8 bits and no parity.
- Check that you can get into setup on your CRT. If you cannot get into the local CRT
setup, the CRT is probably bad.
- The POWER LED is dark (out)
on my ATU6000.
- Check to make sure the power cord is plugged into the ATU6000 and an AC receptacle, and
that there is power coming out of the AC receptacle.
- If you are sure there is power going into the ATU6000, contact the technical support
department at Numerex Services for an RMA number to send the unit back for repair.
- My
automation communication is down, and the ATU6000 says Host Up, 685 Down every
10 minutes.
- Check to make sure the cable is plugged into the automation port of the ATU 6000.
- Remove the cable from the automation port on the back of the ATU 6000. Short pins 2 and
3 in the connector. If the message Host Up, 685 Up appears across the terminal, the
problem is most likely in the 685. If the 685 message does not appear after shorting pins
2 and 3 on the computer port, call Numerex Services for an RMA #.
- What
are the communication settings for the computer (automation) port?
- 1200 baud, 8 bits per character, 1 stop bit and no parity.
- What are the
communication settings for the printer port?
- The printer port is a serial port, set at 1200 baud, 8 bits per character, 1 stop bit
and no parity.
- How do you get
into Setup on the ATU 6000?
- Press the reset button on the front panel. As the unit is rebooting, press the space bar
on the terminal a few times. A setup menu should appear.
- The
floppy disk drive has errors, the list macro command displays nothing or the
stats file cannot be read during reboot.
- The disk drive is most likely bad. Those disk drives are no longer made, so there are no
replacement parts. The unit can still receive alarm signals without a disk drive, but your
local database can not be read and your macros will not operate. You can contact the sales
department at Numerex Services for a replacement receiver.
- Why is the red fault light on all
the time?
-
The fault light comes on for one of the following reasons:
- STU Non- Responding Message
- Automation is Down
- Communication to Host is Down
- Scanner Out of Service
- If the LED is always on, the problem is probably a non-responding STU.
